Witchcraft is an earth or Nature spirituality. Nature is sacred. Nature embodies divinity. Divinity is immanent, transcendent, male and female. Everything in Nature is connected.
Its practices attune humanity to the natural rhythms and cycles of the universe. Each personally experiences divinity. Rituals coordinate with the phases of the moon, and the change of the seasons in the Wheel of the Year, with festivals for the equinoxes, solstices and four days that lie between such as May Day and Halloween.
Most Witches consider their practice a priest/esshood involving years of training and passage through life-transforming initiatory rituals.
Witches within CoG agree on an ethical code known as the Wiccan Rede, 'An it harm none, do what ye will'. The Rede honors the freedom of each individual to do what she or he believes is right, but also recognizes the profound responsibility that none may be harmed by one’s actions and thoughts.
